DEMOCRACY DAY: A CALL FOR SOBER REFLECTION, KWHA ASPIRANT CRIED OUT

DEMOCRACY DAY: A CALL TO REAWAKEN NIGERIANS FROM THEIR SLUMBERS.

Dear Fellow Citizens

It is with a deep sense of humility that i address the entire public on the occasion of Democracy day, following my interest to run for the seat of Honorable member of kwara state house of assembly representing Ajikobi Alanamu constituency.  I do hereby wish to stand firmly on your mandate and request for your complete and unalloyed support for a better representation.

It is of factual that our country is currently on life support. Who we elect as the next representative will surely determine if the country gets back on the path towards recovery or continue in her descent to the path of lost cause.

Will you agree with me that the system we voted for to protect us is the one eating us up !

We both have the same time, instinct, same law book that guides us yet the masses are the one being deprived of their rights.

The 1999 Amendment Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria clearly states the rights and responsibilities of every individuals and so it is expected that we all follow the path of the constitution.

It is pathetic that the path we all tends to walk on is what our elected officials trampled, we need to change the narrative.

Today, Nigeria is celebrating Democracy day in respect to the posthumous honour of CHIEF MOSHOOD KASHIMAWO ABIOLA,the elected and denied president of the country decades ago. The  only election to have been free and fair so far which explore the concept of Democracy.

Democracy protects the rights and freedoms of the entire citizens irrespective of your tribe, ages and locality.

Enshrined in chapter 2, section 14, subsection 2b of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the solemn duty of the government as clearly spelt out.

*"... the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government"*

In Nigeria, the soil under our feet is soaked and saturated with the blood of innocent men, women and children who are massacred daily without any respite in communities across the country.

Enshrined in chapter 4, section 39, subsection 1 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the right to freedom of expression as clearly spelt out

*"Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference"*

It is said that whenever one get to a point in his life, he or she reject what is regarded not liken by him/her. It is well stated in the constitution, a chance of free peaceful demonstration but the leaders we elected denied us the right knowing fully the rights is not to be ceased.

How can the aggrieved citizens not show disapproval when clearly what the elected leaders do is against the Democratic. This is simply denial of freedom of expression.

Going through research or even historically, our elected leaders have not improved the mixed economy system which suppose to be of good benefit to both the leaders and the citizens.

To every reasonable citizens this is a call to awaken us from our slumbers and support the party as we march to victory in 2023.

God bless AAC and God bless Nigeria.

Signed:-

SANNI YUSUF OLATUNJI (SOY)
