NANS KWARA SET TO LAUNCH AA CUP 2023

*NANS KWARA PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO MALLAM BOLA MOGAJI, THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, KWARA STATE SPORTS COMMISSION AT STADIUM COMPLEX ILORIN*


-Holds a dialogue on the plans of her proposed maiden football tournament among all tertiary institutions in the state tagged “AA CUP 2023.”


- Presents copies of the NANS KWARA 5th Edition of the Acme magazine tagged “The Achiever” which was in honor of the educational achievements of HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State to the executive chairman and the sports commission.


The leadership of NANS JCC KWARA ably led by the chairman, pays a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission at the stadium complex Ilorin in a bid to discuss on the yardsticks and plans of our proposed football competition which shall be between all the tertiary institutions in Kwara State tagged “AA CUP 2023”.


After the introduction of the delegates of NANS and the Commission, the chairman of the association Comrade Yusuf Abdulgafar fondly addressed as GËê~RóÕpHaI elucidated on the purpose of the visit to the commission, which is basically to seek guidance, support and as well as smooth collaboration between the two bodies in order to organize a laudable and memorable maiden football competition of the association which will be between the institutions in the nooks and crannies of the state.



Speaking further, the chairman outlined the contents enshrined in the 5th edition of the Acme magazine and the reason why it was launched in honor of the Governor achievements in educational sectors. As an apex students body in the state, our critical concerns are basically towards the developments and growths of education in the state.


Furthermore, the chairman unveiled the plans of the association to organize the maiden football competition, which is aimed at promoting the unity, strengthen and stabilize the harmony between the students in various campuses in the state. He said the tournament will be a competition between the eleven (11) government owned institutions and some selected private institutions in the state, series of matches shall be played on the football pitch of different institutions among the participating schools and the final match is proposed to hold on a pitch in the state capital amidst top government officers, prominent personalities, sport ambassadors and enthusiasts and football lovers across the country.


The students need to engage and enjoy an extra-curricular activities, that’s the basic reason we put it up as a must-do task amidst the uniqueness of this kind of initiative in the worthy historical records of the apex students association in the state. 


Football is the most recognized sport in the globe and it is as well the most commonest sport activity in our various campuses, thus, the competition will give rooms for students to showcase their football skills and talents for the worthwhile players to win various prizes and awards as well possibly promote their football career through the collaboration with the Sports Commission and other agencies in the state.


On the response by Mallam Bola Mogaji The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, he appreciated the visit to the commission and commended the giant stride and students-based activities of the apex association and also shared his sport experiences during his time at the school and unquantifiable advantages of sport to those who choose it as a career. He praised the association for their honor out of the achievements of the Governor and also reiterated that the Governor also achieved tremendously in sports sectors too.


The Executive Chairman of the commission, then lauded the great initiative of the association of proposing to hold a sport event among the tertiary institutions in the state and called it a highly welcome idea and laudable development. He said, sports are the only activities that are swift to bring unity among people(students) even earlier achievable than quiz and debate competition, he referenced some individuals that have achieved greatly in sport and even among students. 


“He pledged the full support and collaboration of the commission in all areas necessary towards the actualization of this remarkable project and the commission shall be ready to take substantial roles on the plans so as to make it a colorful occasion as well serve as a catalyst to cohort sport activities to the association annual programs. He again expressed their special appreciation to the delegates of the association for the prodigious visit, said they are eager to work and collaborate with the leadership of NANS JCC Kwara State”.


Conclusively, the delegates of NANS KWARA presented copies of the magazine to the executive chairman and the placards for the proposed football tournament tagged the “AA CUP 2023” were also presented.
