Concerned Kwara Youth Message to Governor on Transition process

His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

Governor of Kwara State

Government House, Ilorin

Kwara State, Nigeria

Dear His Excellency,

*Urgent Need for Intervention in the Ongoing Transition Process of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter*

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you as a concerned citizen and a passionate advocate for the youth of Kwara State, particularly regarding the ongoing transition process of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kwara State Chapter.

It has come to our attention that the current leadership of the NYCN has been in office for over five years, which is in direct violation of the constitutional tenure limit of four years. This prolonged tenure has not only undermined the democratic principles that the council is meant to uphold but has also stifled the emergence of new leadership that is essential for the growth and development of our youth.

Moreover, there are alarming reports that the electoral committees have conspired to clear aspirants who are above the official youth age, thereby excluding a significant portion of our vibrant and capable youth from participating in the leadership process. This practice not only contravenes the spirit of inclusivity that the NYCN should embody but also perpetuates a cycle of leadership that lacks fresh ideas and perspectives.

The NYCN, as a pivotal platform for youth engagement and empowerment, is currently lacking in ideology and direction. It is imperative that we have young, qualified, and visionary leaders who can inspire and mobilize the youth towards meaningful contributions to our society. The current situation poses a serious threat to the future of our youth and, by extension, the development of Kwara State.

In light of these pressing issues, we respectfully urge your Excellency to intervene in the ongoing transition process of the NYCN, Kwara State Chapter. Your leadership and commitment to the welfare of the youth can help restore integrity to the council and ensure that it fulfills its mandate of representing and advocating for the interests of young people in our state.

We believe that with your support, we can pave the way for a new era of leadership within the NYCN—one that is characterized by transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the empowerment of our youth.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. We look forward to your positive response and to seeing the youth of Kwara State thrive under a leadership that truly represents their aspirations.

Yours sincerely,

Concerned Kwara Youth
