AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq: A True Son of the Soil

DISTINGUISHING A TRUE SON FROM AN ACCLAIMED ONE

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stands as a testament to what it means to be a "true son of the soil." An Ilorin native to the core, his unwavering commitment to the development and progress of Kwara State transcends mere claims of indigeneship. It is his actions and results that affirm his dedication to his people.

Under his leadership, Kwara State has witnessed a transformation that reflects the vision and passion of someone deeply rooted in his heritage. Governor AbdulRazaq’s initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment speak volumes of his genuine desire to uplift his community and ensure a brighter future for all. Unlike those who merely lay claim to the soil, his deeds confirm his authenticity.

A simple visit to Ilorin reveals the undeniable impact of his governance. Governor AbdulRazaq reclaimed the state's fortunes from the grip of self-serving individuals who, despite their claims of belonging, prioritized personal gain over public good. The contrast is striking: the Kwara of yesterday, once stagnant and melancholic, has transformed into a modern, vibrant state under his stewardship.

To sustain this momentum and safeguard Kwara’s progress, we must continue to support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The legacy he is building is one of transparency, growth, and prosperity—a far cry from the era where public assets were treated as personal properties.

"If you give a mad man his father’s corpse, the best he’ll do is fry it and eat."

This Yoruba adage captures the essence of the past leadership that prioritized selfish gains over communal progress. The 2019 reawakening was not just an escape from oppression but a bold step toward reshaping Kwara into the self-sustaining state we see today.

The era of gogota (mismanagement and stagnation) has ended. The new Kwara is here—a Kwara of hope, progress, and sustainable development. To ensure this trajectory continues, supporting Governor AbdulRazaq is not just a choice but a necessity.

I am Sanni Yusuf Olatunji, from Ilorin West, Ojuekun Zarumi Ward.
