Transformation of Ilorin and The Desperate Cries of the Puff-Puff Era Beneficiaries!

*Transformation of Ilorin and The Desperate Cries of the Puff-Puff Era Beneficiaries!*

*KWARA CENTRAL MUST STAND WITH ABDULRAMAN ABDULRAZAQ!*

Ilorin is evolving into a modern city, and only the deliberately blind would fail to recognize this transformation. Every true indigene of Ilorin should take pride in the unprecedented progress being witnessed in our land.

A patriotic citizen rejoices at the development of their community. It is for this reason that every Ilorite should not only celebrate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s stellar performance but also appreciate the infrastructural renewal reshaping Ilorin into a city of global standards.

*MONUMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS!*

Currently, four groundbreaking business and innovation hubs have been completed in Ilorin, (Communication and Technology (ICT) Innovation Hub, the conversion of Gasoline-Powered Vehicles to Electric Vehicles, the Garment Factory, and the Sugar Film Factory) while other monumental projects are underway.

These government initiate projects - many of which are firsts in North-Central Nigeria -are reshaping the city’s landscape and positioning it as a beacon of progress. This wave of development has also extended across the state, giving Ilorin a modern and enviable identity.

The support of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and our revered Emir of Ilorin for these transformative strides is not surprising. It is the duty of all well-meaning individuals to encourage efforts that uplift our community and ensure progress.

*An Era of Purposeful Leadership*

Ilorin is a city of great potential, likened to a river teeming with abundant resources. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is the exemplary leader among the many great people steering Ilorin and Kwara toward prosperity. According to a Yoruba adage: “He who begins well must end well.” AbdulRazaq has begun this journey admirably, and it is our collective responsibility to support him to a successful conclusion.

Indeed, Ilorin has produced many remarkable leaders, but today, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stands out as the sun whose radiance is illuminating the city and warming its people. His administration is balancing progress with equity, ensuring that everyone benefits from this era of purposeful governance.

*The Wailing of the Puff-Puff Dynasty Beneficiary*

We vividly remember the era of puff-puff sharing and the infamous ₦500 token politics that defined the fallen dynasty. Those who ask, "Can we eat good roads?" fail to understand the essence of sustainable development. Their leaders prioritized frying puff-puff over building infrastructure, enriching themselves while tossing crumbs to the people. Such a mindset cannot comprehend the importance of a modernized city or a system designed to serve everyone equitably.

This is no longer the era of exploitation and deceit. Today’s governance is built on equity, justice, and strategic collaboration, as exemplified by Governor AbdulRahman’s alignment with national progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Unlike his predecessors, who turned Kwara into a pariah state for selfish political gains, fighting Jonathan and Buhari to his downfall - AbdulRazaq is ensuring Kwara is aligned with national priorities for the benefit of its people.

*A Warning Against Political Misalignment!*

The selfish politicians of the fallen dynasty, who misappropriated public resources for personal gain, are now crying foul. Their antics, such as illegally encroaching on public land and forcing ministries to rebuild fences they demolished, are well known. These individuals, unable to thrive in a merit-based system, cling to the outdated puff-puff politics that has no place in a modern Kwara. That was the reason they still gather in fifty or hundreds round their puff - puff giver - who are after selfish interest as usual. Ilorin should not follow these people in their destined to fail project.

Allah did not teach us to align with bad leader and loyalty should never be to evil leaders as Islam taught us; Surah Hud 11:113 says

"And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not have other than Allah any protectors; then you would not be helped."

Dignity, religion or law is against this as I believe Christianity would not have teach us to back selfish leader.

*The Way Forward!*

Ilorin and Kwara Central must reject the divisive tactics of these failed politicians. The two factors that should guide our political alignment are performance in office and strategic alignment with progressive leadership. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has proven himself in both regards. Aligning with his leadership and pushing aside those attempting to destabilize progress is the only path forward for Ilorin and Kwara as a whole.

It is time to move decisively away from the puff-puff sharers of the past and embrace the vision of a modern, prosperous Kwara. Supporting AbdulRazaq is not just a necessity—it is the responsibility of every forward-thinking Ilorite who desires a brighter future.
