109 SENATORIAL DISTRICTS, ONLY 3 WOMEN ASPIRANTS: DELIVER THEIR MANDATES NOW.

*109 SENATORIAL DISTRICTS, ONLY 3 WOMEN ASPIRANTS: DELIVER THEIR MANDATES NOW*

_From: APC Kwara South Women Support Group_

Nigeria has 109 Senatorial Districts. In the just concluded APC Senatorial Primaries, *only 3 women aspirants emerged victorious and won their tickets*: *Dr. Muheebah Dankaka from Kwara South, Idiat Adekunle from Lagos West, and Ngozi Okeke-Chiedu from Anambra Central.*

Three women aspirants out of 109. This number reminds us that the journey toward greater women’s representation is still ongoing. Kwara South, Lagos West, and Anambra Central have shown faith in women’s leadership. They walked to the primaries and they chose women aspirants. Their voices must be respected.

These three women aspirants earned their tickets through hard work and the trust of delegates. They carried the hopes of mothers and daughters on their shoulders. Reports of possible substitution and pressure to replace have created concern among the people. *IF YOU CANNOT GIVE US MORE, DO NOT TAKE ANY OF THESE 3.* The Senate is where laws that affect our homes, our markets, and our children are made. When women are present at that table, families and communities are better represented. Dr. Muheebah, Idiat, and Ngozi are not seeking favors. They are asking that the choice of the people be honored.

Now hear Kwara South. Hear Dr. Muheebah Dankaka. She stood alone as *North Central’s only female Senate aspirant* and she walked into battle with nothing but her name and the trust of her people. She climbed hills in the 7 LGAs, she slept in villages, she sat with widows, she held the hands of mothers who told her, “Our daughter, speak for us.” She faced every contender, every doubt, every closed door. In the just concluded primary, *she beat all her contenders with a very wide margin*. Kwara South answered her with a resounding voice. Kwara South chose her. *This mandate is sweat, tears, and the prayers of women who saw themselves in her for the first time.* Do not touch it. Do not replace it. Do not kill the hope you gave birth to.

APC Kwara South Women Support Group speaks with memory and with warning. *In 2019 when she aspired, she won at the primary but she was denied. She was dropped.* The incumbent *Senator Lola Ashiru* lied that she is not from Kwara State all because of her surname. They did this on the last night to the INEC closing date. That betrayal still lives in the hearts of our women. *We will not allow that to repeat itself this time around.* The primaries are done. The ballots are counted. The people have spoken. Dr. Muheebah Dankaka is Kwara South’s choice. Give her the mandate that belongs to her, that belongs to us. *IF YOU CANNOT GIVE US MORE, DO NOT TAKE ANY OF THESE 3.* If you deny her again, you deny every woman watching. Nigerian women are watching. Kwara South is watching. God is watching. And we will never forget.

Signed,

*APC Kwara South Women Support Group*
