Kwara North Marginalisation: Group calls for Equity, Justice and inclusiveness.

Kwara North Marginalisation: A Call for Equity, Justice, and Inclusive Governance by: Bint Abdulkareem

The pursuit of justice, fairness, and inclusive governance remains the cornerstone of any thriving democratic society. In Kwara State, these principles must continue to guide our collective political decisions, ensuring that every region and community is given a genuine sense of belonging and equal opportunity to contribute to leadership and development.

It is within this context that we respectfully draw attention to the concerns surrounding the political positioning of Kwara North. As a significant and integral part of the state, Kwara North has consistently demonstrated loyalty, commitment, and unwavering support for the unity and progress of Kwara State. The region has played its role in sustaining democratic stability and advancing the broader interests of the state.

However, there is a growing need to address the issue of equitable representation. Over time, Kwara North has experienced limited access to key leadership positions, particularly in the highest office of the state. While this observation is made with utmost respect to all stakeholders and past leadership arrangements, it underscores the importance of fostering a more balanced and inclusive political structure.

To illustrate this concern, one may consider a simple analogy: where three brothers are entrusted with a shared inheritance, fairness dictates that each should have equal access to its benefits. When one is consistently left out, it is not merely a question of sentiment, but of justice and equity. This analogy reflects the current sentiment within Kwara North not as a grievance, but as a call for inclusion and fairness.

In light of this, the youths of Kwara North humbly and respectfully advocate that Kwara North be given the opportunity to produce the next Governor of Kwara State. This appeal is not driven by entitlement, but by a genuine desire to strengthen unity, promote fairness, and deepen the democratic values upon which our state stands. Granting this opportunity would send a strong message of inclusiveness and reinforce the trust of the people in the political process.

Furthermore, it is important to acknowledge that within Kwara North itself, there are calls for balanced representation among its constituent local governments. Moro Local Government, in particular, has remained a vital contributor to the socio-political development of the region and the state at large. Its people have demonstrated dedication, resilience, and active participation in political processes over the years.

In the spirit of equity and internal inclusiveness, it is only fair that Moro Local Government be given due consideration for the Federal House of Representatives seat in the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency. Such a step would not only promote fairness within Kwara North but also strengthen unity and cooperation among the constituent communities.

This statement is not intended to create division or undermine existing structures. Rather, it is a constructive and forward-looking appeal that seeks to promote dialogue, understanding, and a shared commitment to fairness. True unity is built not on uniformity, but on the assurance that every group has a voice and an opportunity to thrive.

We therefore call on political leaders, stakeholders, party structures, and well-meaning citizens of Kwara State to carefully consider this appeal in the interest of justice, equity, and sustainable development. By embracing inclusiveness and providing equal opportunities for leadership, we can collectively build a more united, peaceful, and progressive Kwara State.

The time has come to translate our shared values into meaningful action. Kwara North deserves a fair chance. Moro Local Government deserves representation. Together, let us strengthen the bonds of unity and chart a course toward a more inclusive future for all.
