KWARA YOUTHS, STUDENTS DRUM SUPPORT FOR HON. MOSHOOD ALAKA’S REPS BID



A coalition of youths and students across Kwara State has declared support for Hon. Moshood Alaka’s aspiration to represent Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, calling on all indigenes of the constituency to rally behind what they described as “the rightful candidate.”

The group, in a statement issued on Sunday, described Hon. Moshood Alaka as a patriotic leader who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the growth and empowerment of youths and students across the state.

According to the group, Hon. Alaka has over the years supported several youth and student-related initiatives through mentorship, financial assistance, and active participation in programmes aimed at promoting educational and social development.



They noted that his contributions have positively impacted many young people within and outside the constituency, stressing that his leadership qualities and grassroots connection distinguish him among other contenders.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Saka Abdulgafar described Hon. Alaka as the most qualified and credible aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives seat.

“Hon. Moshood Alaka remains a rightful candidate for the position considering his dedication to humanity, accessibility, and unwavering support for youths and students. Many organizations, including NANC Kwara, have benefited from his generosity and commitment to development,” he said.



The group further urged party stakeholders, community leaders, and residents of Edu, Moro, and Patigi Local Government Areas to support Alaka’s aspiration in order to ensure quality representation and sustainable development for the constituency.

They reaffirmed their confidence in his ability to deliver effective representation and champion policies that would uplift the living standards of the people if elected into office.

APC Announces Screening Schedule for National Assembly Aspirants Ahead of Primaries

  By Poet of Afrique Reporters The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the screening schedule for aspirants seeking to contest for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections. In a press statement issued on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Abuja, the ruling party disclosed that the screening exercise for National Assembly aspirants will hold between Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2026. According to the statement signed by Felix Morka, Senate aspirants are expected to undergo screening at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel, while aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives will be screened at Treasures Suites & Conferences. The party fixed the commencement time for both exercises at 10:00 a.m. on each day.
