POWER SHIFT TO KWARA NORTH 2027: THE CASE FOR MORO (EDU/MORO/PATIGI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY)

POWER SHIFT TO KWARA NORTH 2027: THE CASE FOR MORO (EDU/MORO/PATIGI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY)

The call for power shift to Kwara North in 2027 is not just politics—it is a matter of justice, equity, and fairness.

Since the return of democracy in 1999, political power in Kwara State has been unevenly distributed. Kwara Central has dominated governance for decades, while Kwara South has had its opportunity.

However, Kwara North continues to demand its rightful place in the leadership structure.

Within Kwara North itself, the same imbalance exists.

In the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, the House of Representatives seat has rotated only between Edu and Patigi for nearly 28 years, leaving Moro Local Government completely excluded. This long-standing exclusion makes the demand for Moro’s inclusion not only reasonable—but necessary.

Why Moro Must Be Considered in 2027

Equity and Justice: Moro is the only local government in the constituency that has never produced a House of Representatives member since 1999.

Balance of Power: Fair rotation strengthens unity and prevents political marginalization.

Moral Obligation: Democracy should not be a winner-takes-all system; it must reflect inclusion and fairness.

If we truly believe in zoning and fairness, then Moro must be given this opportunity in 2027.

The Right Candidate: Hon. Moshood Alaka

Among all aspirants, Hon. Moshood Alaka stands out as:

A grassroots politician with strong community connection

A strategist and mobilizer with proven political experience

A stakeholder in the Kwara North agenda, actively advocating for power shift

A serving Senior Adviser on Political Affairs, demonstrating leadership and governance experience

He has built networks, contributed to political development, and remained committed to the struggle for Kwara North’s recognition.

The Message is Clear

If we are serious about:

Power shift to Kwara North

Fairness among Edu, Moro, and Patigi

True democratic representation

Then Moro must produce the next House of Representatives member in 2027.

And to achieve that, Hon. Moshood Alaka is the candidate to support.

Conclusion:

Denying Moro this opportunity again would weaken the very argument for equity we make against imbalance at the state level.

Justice begins at home.

Fairness starts with us.

2027 must be Moro’s turn.
