Hon. Moshood Alaka Deserves Commendation, Not Criticism

The recent criticism directed at Hon. Moshood Alaka for supporting the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and calling for peace after the party's primary election is both unwarranted and misplaced.

In every democratic setting, citizens and political actors have the right to express their views and convictions. As a loyal party member and former Adviser on Party Affairs to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Alaka's call for unity, calm, and adherence to party structures reflects political maturity, discipline, and a deep commitment to the stability of the APC.

His appeal is not an act of weakness or surrender but a demonstration of responsible leadership. At a time when emotions naturally run high after a keenly contested primary election, leaders are expected to promote reconciliation, strengthen internal cohesion, and encourage members to place the collective interest of the party above personal considerations.

Hon. Alaka's message urging APC members to remain peaceful and committed to the party's constitution and leadership deserves support, not condemnation. Those who seek to undermine such efforts risk placing personal ambitions ahead of the party's unity and long-term success.

Every dedicated APC member should recognize that the party's constitution and decisions of its constituted authorities must take precedence over individual preferences. Political parties thrive when members uphold discipline, respect established processes, and work together toward shared goals.

As an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Hon. Alaka invested significant time, resources, energy, and personal commitment in pursuit of his aspiration. It is therefore unfair and illogical to suggest that his political journey was motivated by the prospect of securing an appointment. Such assertions diminish the sacrifices and dedication he demonstrated throughout the process.

His approach to politics has consistently been guided by progressive ideals, democratic values, and a genuine desire to serve the people. Rather than embracing divisive politics, he has chosen the path of statesmanship, dialogue, and constructive engagement.

Moreover, Hon. Moshood Alaka's contributions to the growth and development of Moro Local Government are widely acknowledged. Through various community interventions, empowerment initiatives, and unwavering support for grassroots development, he has positively impacted countless lives and strengthened the socio-political landscape of the local government.

Hon. Moshood Alaka remains a respected political figure, a committed party loyalist, and a source of pride to Moro Local Government and Kwara State. His dedication to peace, party unity, and community development merits appreciation and recognition. In moments like this, leaders who advocate peace and stability should be celebrated, not criticized.
