2027: Asiwaju Mashood Shittu Joins OK Movement National Leadership as Director of Political Engagement.

Asiwaju Mashood Shittu (AMS), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election and National Coordinator of the Kwankwaso National Network (KNN), has been appointed Director of Political Engagement of the OK Movement.

The appointment was announced during the inauguration of the movement's national leadership as part of efforts to strengthen its nationwide structure ahead of the 2027 general elections. The OK Movement is a grassroots political coalition bringing together supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to promote accountable leadership and advocate a joint Obi/Kwankwaso presidential ticket for the 2027 elections.



In his new role, Shittu will be responsible for coordinating political mobilisation, deepening engagement with key stakeholders, and strengthening the movement's grassroots structures across the country as consultations intensify ahead of the next general elections.

Reacting to his appointment, Shittu expressed gratitude to the leadership of the OK Movement for the confidence reposed in him, describing the opportunity as a call to greater service and a chance to contribute to the movement's vision of building a united, inclusive, and accountable Nigeria.

He pledged to work closely with other members of the national leadership to expand the movement's reach, forge strategic political partnerships, and mobilise Nigerians who share its vision of national renewal and good governance.

Shittu also reaffirmed his commitment to promoting issue-based politics, constructive democratic engagement, and responsible leadership, assuring supporters that he would discharge his responsibilities with dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose.

The OK Movement describes itself as a nationwide coalition committed to advancing competent leadership, national unity, and systemic reforms through grassroots mobilisation and citizen participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
