APC Committee Screens 158 Aspirants for 24 State Assembly Seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee has successfully screened a total of 158 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket across the 24 seats of the State House of Assembly ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

The screening exercise, which was conducted by the party’s designated committee, was aimed at assessing the eligibility, competence, and preparedness of the aspirants seeking to represent the APC in the next general elections.

Speaking after the exercise, members of the committee described the process as transparent, thorough, and in line with the party’s guidelines for internal democracy.

According to the committee, all aspirants were subjected to detailed verification of credentials and necessary consultations to ensure only qualified candidates emerge for the primaries.

APC Announces Screening Schedule for National Assembly Aspirants Ahead of Primaries

By Poet of Afrique Reporters The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the screening schedule for aspirants seeking to contest for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections. In a press statement issued on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Abuja, the ruling party disclosed that the screening exercise for National Assembly aspirants will hold between Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2026. According to the statement signed by Felix Morka, Senate aspirants are expected to undergo screening at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel, while aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives will be screened at Treasures Suites & Conferences. The party fixed the commencement time for both exercises at 10:00 a.m. on each day.
