The Kwara State Government has approved the payment of a 30% Peculiar Allowance for workers in Agencies, Parastatals, and Media Houses who were yet to benefit from the allowance earlier approved for their counterparts in the mainstream civil service.


This was disclosed by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu, in a statement issued by the Press Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Okanlawon Solomon.


According to the statement, the approval reflects the administration’s unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, fairness, and inclusiveness across the state public service.


Dr. Shittu stated that the implementation of the allowance will take effect from June 1, 2026, describing the gesture as another demonstration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to improving the wellbeing and morale of workers in Kwara State.


She commended the Governor for his sustained support for the workforce and for championing policies that promote equity, productivity, and industrial harmony within the civil service.


The Acting Head of Service also urged workers in the affected establishments to remain diligent, committed, and supportive of government programmes and policies geared towards the continued development of the state.


Meanwhile, the statement further revealed that salaries for the month of May were paid ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to enable workers celebrate the festive season comfortably with their families.


Dr. Shittu felicitated workers and the Muslim faithful across the state on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Kwara State.
