MORO APC PRIMARY: STAKEHOLDERS PETITION PARTY OVER ALLEGED RESULT MANIPULATION

Concerned stakeholders in Moro Local Government have raised alarm over alleged irregularities and manipulation during the collation of results from the recent APC primary election.

In a petition made available to journalists, the group expressed dissatisfaction with the figures announced in favour of Hon. Ajani Joshua, describing the results as questionable and inconsistent with the realities across the wards in Moro Local Government.

The stakeholders alleged that the Collation Officer for Moro Local Government, Mallam Abdullahi Audu Mazih, acted under external influence to manipulate the outcome of the exercise in favour of Ajani Joshua. They further claimed that the process was allegedly influenced by powerful interests within the party leadership in the state.

According to the petition, the people of Moro Local Government are politically aware and cannot remain silent over what they described as attempts to undermine the democratic wishes of party members.

The group raised several questions regarding the credibility of the collation process, including the identity of accredited agents who represented Hon. Moshood Alaka during the collation and those who signed the result sheets on his behalf.

They also questioned how Ajani Joshua allegedly emerged victorious across all 17 wards, including the ward of Hon. Moshood Alaka, insisting that such an outcome has generated widespread suspicion among party members and supporters.

The stakeholders further alleged that the original list of ward chairmen submitted ahead of the primary election was altered to favour certain preferred candidates, an action they described as a threat to internal party democracy.

While calling on party leaders to investigate the allegations thoroughly, the group warned against actions capable of causing division within the party and weakening public confidence in the electoral process.

They maintained that democracy must reflect the genuine will of party members and not the interests of a few individuals allegedly seeking to impose outcomes through manipulation.

The petition concluded with a call for transparency, fairness, and justice, insisting that the integrity of the APC primary process in Moro Local Government must be protected.

The statement was signed by concerned stakeholders of Moro Local Government.
