2027: Hon. Moshood Alaka Calls for Unity, Loyalty as APC Intensifies Preparations for General Elections

MAAUG Leader Urges Members to Prioritise Party Cohesion, Support APC Candidates Across Kwara

The Leader of the Moro AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Unity Group (MAAUG) and former Adviser on Party Affairs to the Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Moshood Alaka, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro Local Government Area to remain united, loyal, and committed to the party's collective aspirations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Alaka made the appeal during a stakeholders' meeting attended by Ward Chairmen, Ward Councillors, Local Government Party Executives, former commissioners, former public office holders, women and youth leaders, technical assistants, party elders, and supporters from the 17 wards of Moro Local Government.

The gathering served as a platform to appreciate party members for their steadfast support and sacrifices while reaffirming support for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC governorship candidate, Salihu Yakubu Danladi.

Addressing participants, Alaka commended party faithful and political associates for their resilience, dedication, and loyalty throughout the political process. He acknowledged that the outcome of the House of Representatives primary election did not align with the expectations of many supporters but urged them not to allow the development to weaken their commitment to the APC.

According to him, every legitimate effort was made to advocate for the House of Representatives ticket to emerge from Moro Local Government, adding that political ambitions must always be pursued with an understanding that ultimate outcomes rest with God.



"We pursued our aspiration with sincerity, determination, and conviction. However, we must recognise that destiny is determined by God. If the House of Representatives seat does not come to Moro Local Government at this time, we must accept the outcome in good faith and remain committed to the progress of our party and our people," he said.

Alaka maintained that the aspiration for Moro Local Government to produce the next member of the House of Representatives remains valid and deserving of continued advocacy. He, however, cautioned supporters against actions capable of undermining party unity and discipline.

"The quest for greater political inclusion for Moro Local Government is legitimate, but it must be pursued through constructive engagement, mutual respect, and unwavering loyalty to the party," he added.

The former adviser reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and Governor AbdulRazaq, stressing that party members must remain steadfast regardless of individual political outcomes.

"Our commitment to the APC and the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq remains unshaken. As progressives, our greatest strength lies in our unity, discipline, and shared vision. We must support every candidate produced by our party because the success of the APC is directly linked to the development and prosperity of our people."

He further encouraged members to remain optimistic, patient, and committed to grassroots engagement, noting that perseverance and consistent service remain critical ingredients for lasting political relevance.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of MAAUG, Alhaji Ajibade Ishola, urged party members to prioritise unity and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the APC.

He described Governor AbdulRazaq as a visionary and inclusive leader whose commitment to fairness, development, and party growth has continued to strengthen confidence among members across the state.

Ishola advised aggrieved members to utilise established party structures for consultation and conflict resolution, stressing that internal dialogue remains the most effective means of preserving harmony and cohesion.

He also appealed to media practitioners, political commentators, and social media influencers to exercise restraint and professionalism in their engagements, urging them to promote narratives that foster unity and strengthen the party rather than deepen divisions.

According to him, responsible communication and constructive political engagement are essential to sustaining the stability and progress recorded by the APC in Kwara State.

Among dignitaries present at the meeting were former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Yunusa Afolabi; Commissioner II, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaja Fatimoh Babatunde; former Speaker of the Moro Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Ibrahim Issa Ofide; the 17 Ward Councillors led by the Speaker of the Legislative Council, Hon. Rahmat Adelodun; Ward Chairmen led by Mallam Babatunde Jimoh; Technical Assistants led by Hon. Zuebat Moshood; Ward Women Leaders led by Alhaja Iyabo Jimoh; as well as APC elders, youths, and party faithful from across the local government area.

In their separate remarks, stakeholders, women leaders, youth leaders, and party executives commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides and leadership across the state. They unanimously reaffirmed their support for the Governor, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by MAAUG members and party stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen internal cohesion, uphold party discipline, and work collectively towards securing electoral victories for the APC in Moro Local Government, the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, and Kwara State at large.
