Kwarans from all walks of life gathered to celebrate the 70th birthday of the Mutawalin of Ilorin, His Eminence, Dr. Alimi Abdul-Razaq, LL.B (Hons), LL.M, Ph.D (Hull), B.L., FCIArb., ACTI, with tributes pouring in for his decades of exemplary service, philanthropy, and commitment to humanity.

Speaking on behalf of the Organising Committee at the special prayer held in honour of the revered elder statesman, former Special Adviser on Party Affairs to the Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Moshood Alaka, described Dr. Abdul-Razaq as a distinguished legal luminary, educationist, public administrator, and humanitarian whose life has been devoted to the service of Allah, the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria.

Welcoming Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, legal practitioners, public office holders, family members, friends, and well-wishers, Alaka said the occasion was not merely a birthday celebration but a recognition of a lifetime of integrity, compassion, excellence, and selfless service.



He noted that the Mutawalin of Ilorin has made remarkable contributions to youth development through the promotion of youth-focused initiatives and the facilitation of sustainable employment opportunities, positively impacting countless young people and their families.

Alaka also highlighted the celebrant's enduring commitment to education, stating that numerous students across Kwara State have benefited from his scholarship programme, enabling many to complete their education and become productive members of society.

He further praised Dr. Abdul-Razaq's humanitarian efforts, saying he has consistently extended support to widows, the elderly, and other vulnerable members of society through empowerment initiatives, financial assistance, and other charitable interventions.

According to him, many beneficiaries can attest to the Mutawalin's generosity, kindness, and willingness to offer hope, guidance, and support to those in need.



Alaka said Dr. Abdul-Razaq's exemplary character and unwavering dedication to public service earned him the revered title of Mutawalin of Ilorin, a position in which he has continued the legacy of honour, humility, generosity, and service established by his late father.

He described the celebrant as a role model whose life reflects the values of faith, scholarship, integrity, humility, and visionary leadership, urging younger generations to emulate his noble ideals.

Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Alaka disclosed that Dr. Abdul-Razaq was unable to attend the prayer session because he is currently in Makkah observing acts of worship, noting that his 70th birthday coinciding with a Friday made the occasion a unique spiritual blessing.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the celebrant's acts of worship, grant him sound health, long life, abundant wisdom, peace, and renewed strength to continue serving Islam, the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria, and humanity.

The event was attended by eminent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, members of the legal profession, political leaders, public office holders, family members, associates, and well-wishers who gathered to honour the remarkable life and enduring legacy of His Eminence, Dr. Alimi Abdul-Razaq, on the milestone of his 70th birthday.
