APC Postpones House of Representatives Primary Election to May 16

The All Progressives Congress has postponed its House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026.

The announcement was made in a press statement issued in Abuja on Thursday and signed by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the party.

According to the statement, other previously announced dates for the Senate, State House of Assembly, Governorship and Presidential primaries remain unchanged.

The revised timetable released by the party is as follows:

House of Representatives Primary Election — Saturday, 16th May, 2026

Senate Primary Election — Monday, 18th May, 2026

State House of Assembly Primary Election — Wednesday, 20th May, 2026

Governorship Primary Election — Thursday, 21st May, 2026

Presidential Primary Election — Saturday, 23rd May, 2026

The party noted that only the House of Representatives primary election date was adjusted, while every other scheduled primary election will proceed as earlier announced.

APC Announces Screening Schedule for National Assembly Aspirants Ahead of Primaries

By Poet of Afrique Reporters The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the screening schedule for aspirants seeking to contest for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections. In a press statement issued on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Abuja, the ruling party disclosed that the screening exercise for National Assembly aspirants will hold between Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2026. According to the statement signed by Felix Morka, Senate aspirants are expected to undergo screening at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel, while aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives will be screened at Treasures Suites & Conferences. The party fixed the commencement time for both exercises at 10:00 a.m. on each day. The APC urged all aspirants to appear promptly at their designated venues with all necessary documents and credentials required for the screening process.
