Oyun LG Chairman Urges Party Unity as Legislative Council Endorses APC Governorship Candidate

The Executive Chairman of Oyun Local Government, Hon. (Chief) Akanbi Kamar Olarewaju, has commended members of the Oyun Legislative Council for their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their commitment to the party's success ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
The chairman gave the commendation on Thursday while receiving members of the Legislative Council, led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Ayanlere Omotayo Olalekan, during a courtesy visit to his office.
During the visit, the lawmakers formally declared their total support for the APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, and pledged to mobilize party members and grassroots supporters across Oyun Local Government to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Hon. Ayanlere reaffirmed the lawmakers' unwavering loyalty to the APC, emphasizing their dedication to promoting unity and strengthening the party's structures at the grassroots level.
He assured the chairman that members of the Legislative Council would continue to work diligently to ensure electoral success for the party while fostering cohesion among party faithful across the local government area.
Responding, Hon. Akanbi praised the legislators for demonstrating political maturity and party discipline. He particularly appreciated them for remaining steadfast in their support for the APC after the conclusion of the governorship primaries, despite their individual efforts and mobilization during the contest.
The chairman stressed the importance of unity among party members, noting that collective commitment and loyalty to the party's decisions remain critical to sustaining the APC's dominance in the state.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by both the executive and legislative arms of the local government to work together towards strengthening the APC and ensuring its success in future elections.
