KWARA SOUTH DEMANDS DIRECT PRIMARY, DECLARES SUPPORT FOR DR. MUHEEBA DANKAKA

KWARA SOUTH DEMANDS DIRECT PRIMARY, DECLARES SUPPORT FOR DR. MUHEEBA DANKAKA

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and supporters in Kwara South have strongly called for the adoption of a direct primary process ahead of the party’s senatorial primary election, declaring their support for Dr. Muheeba Dankaka OON as their preferred candidate.

In a statement issued to party leadership and stakeholders, the group emphasized the need for transparency, fairness, and inclusiveness in the emergence of the APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South.

According to the statement, the people of Kwara South remain committed to the ideals of the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that democracy can only thrive when party members are allowed to freely choose their representatives.

> “What Kwara South wants is clear: direct primary. Not consensus behind closed doors. Not imposition by a few. But an open, free, and fair process where every party member has an equal voice,” the statement read.

The group maintained that direct primary remains the most credible democratic process capable of producing a widely accepted candidate who can unite party members and secure victory for the APC in the general elections.

They warned against imposing candidates, noting that elections are won at the grassroots level and not through arrangements made by a select few.

> “Our party needs an acceptable candidate — one who is embraced by all, not rejected by many. If we allow the people to choose through direct primary, we will present a candidate that unites us and strengthens the APC in Kwara South,” the statement added.

The stakeholders further expressed confidence in the leadership of the APC, urging the party to respect the wishes of the people by conducting a transparent direct primary election.

Declaring their support for Dr. Muheeba Dankaka OON, the group described her as a tested and trusted leader with a proven record of service and commitment to humanity.

They highlighted her achievements as former Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission, where she championed fairness, equity, and national inclusion.

The statement also praised her efforts in women empowerment, youth development, and community support initiatives across the seven local government areas of Kwara South Senatorial District, including Offa, Oyun, Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun, Ifelodun, and Oke-Ero.

According to the group, Dr. Dankaka’s popularity and acceptance among the people stem from her humility, accessibility, and longstanding humanitarian interventions.

> “She didn’t build this trust with billboards. She built it with presence, compassion, and action. That is the kind of leader Kwara South deserves in the Senate,” the statement noted.

The group concluded by reaffirming its confidence in Dr. Muheeba Dankaka’s candidacy and urged the APC leadership to allow party members decide freely through direct primary.

> “Dr. Muheeba Dankaka is tested without title, trusted without pressure, and accepted without imposition. Kwara South is ready, Kwara South is united, and Kwara South is choosing Dankaka through direct primary,” the statement concluded.
