Offa APC Endorses Danladi for Kwara Governorship, Tinubu’s Re-election Bid.

Offa APC Endorses Danladi for Kwara Governorship, Tinubu’s Re-election Bid.

The ancient town of Offa was brought to a standstill on Friday as members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) staged a mega rally in endorsement of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi for the 2027 governorship race in Kwara State.

The rally also doubled as a solidarity march in support of the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Supporters in large numbers thronged major streets and landmarks across the town in a colourful procession that reflected the growing political momentum behind the Speaker’s governorship aspiration and continued support for the APC administration at both the state and federal levels.

The march commenced from ODU Hall along Olofa Way and moved through Idi-Ogun, Bovas, and Osunte before culminating in a grand gathering at Emiola Junction, where party leaders and stakeholders addressed supporters.

Speaking during the rally, Hon. Oyebode Musbahudeen, the Offa Coordinator for the Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) Movement, described the endorsement as a strategic political decision aimed at supporting power rotation to Kwara North and ensuring generational leadership in the state.

According to him, the people of Offa and Kwara South are united in their support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition and the emergence of Rt. Hon. Danladi as the next governor of the state.

“We are here to send a clear message to all Kwarans that we are endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term while also supporting the Governorship bid of Kwara North through Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi in 2027,” he said.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Offa Local Government, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun, described the Speaker as the “perfect successor” capable of sustaining the achievements and legacies of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

He praised Danladi’s leadership style in the State House of Assembly, noting that the legislature has witnessed stability, unity, and unprecedented cooperation under his watch.

“Under his leadership as Speaker, we have witnessed stability and zero rifts in the House of Assembly,” Omituntun stated.

The rally attracted top APC stakeholders, party executives, youth groups, women associations, and grassroots mobilizers across Offa Local Government, reflecting what observers described as a unified front within the Offa APC structure.

Among dignitaries present at the event were Hon. Nasiru Adekunle Moshood Adegboye, Offa APC Chairman; Hon. Sarafadeen Mustapha, Speaker of the Offa Legislative Council; Hon. Latifah Biola Olanrewaju; and Hon. Gbadamosi Shao, APC South-West Ward Chairman.

Political analysts believe the endorsement coming from Offa, regarded as a major political nerve centre in Kwara South, represents a significant boost to the growing governorship ambition of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi ahead of the 2027 political permutations in the state.
