  Two Kwara Residents Choose Prison Term Over Fine During Monthly Sanitation Exercise Bint Abdulkareem The Kwara State Government on Saturday conducted its monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the state as part of ongoing efforts to promote a cleaner and healthier environment. The exercise was coordinated through the Ministry of Environment under the leadership of the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Nafisat Buge. Speaking with journalists, the Director of Environmental Services, Mrs. Mustapha Marry, said compliance with the sanitation order was generally high across the state. She disclosed that residents who violated the movement restriction order during the exercise were arrested and arraigned before a mobile court. According to her, the court sentenced offenders to either pay a fine of ₦2,000 or serve a one-month prison term.   JAMB Terminates Admission Into Affiliated Degree Programmes in Colleges of Education The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the discontinuation of admissions into university-affiliated degree programmes run by Colleges of Education nationwide, beginning with the 2026/2027 academic session. Under the new directive, candidates who previously applied for affiliated degree programmes will be reassigned to their selected Colleges of Education or relevant Agric-related Non-Technology National Diploma (ND) programmes.
