Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the retention of the governing councils of all state-owned tertiary institutions for another term, citing their impressive performance in advancing the development of higher education in the state.

The decision, according to the state government, is in recognition of the councils' contributions to institutional growth, improved governance, academic excellence, and administrative stability across the affected institutions.

Governor Oyebanji noted that the councils have demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and effective leadership in supporting the government's vision for a vibrant and competitive tertiary education system.

He said their efforts have contributed significantly to ongoing reforms aimed at improving learning standards, strengthening institutional management, and enhancing the overall quality of higher education in Ekiti State.

The governor expressed confidence that the renewed tenure would enable the councils to consolidate on existing achievements and sustain the momentum of development recorded within the institutions.

He also reiterated his administration's commitment to investing in education and creating an enabling environment for academic excellence, innovation, and human capital development.
