Kwara APC: Chairman Defends Governorship Primary, Says Process Was Transparent



The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi Adeniran, has reaffirmed the credibility and transparency of the party's governorship primary election, stressing that the exercise was conducted across all the 193 wards in the state.

Speaking on the outcome of the primary, Prince Fagbemi stated that party members freely participated in the electoral process, which culminated in the emergence of the party's governorship candidate through a duly recognized and democratic procedure.

According to him, the announcement of the winner was made openly in the presence of party members, stakeholders, observers, and members of the media, leaving no room for doubts about the integrity of the exercise.

"The governorship primary election was held in all the 193 wards of Kwara State, and the result was announced transparently before party faithful, stakeholders, and the media. The process reflected the democratic ideals of our great party," he said.

The APC chairman urged party members to remain united and support the outcome of the primary, emphasizing that the success of the party in future elections depends on collective commitment and loyalty to established party structures.

He further called on aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to embrace reconciliation and work together in the interest of the party and the continued development of Kwara State.

Prince Fagbemi reiterated the commitment of the APC leadership in Kwara to fairness, inclusiveness, and internal democracy, assuring members that the party remains focused on maintaining unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
